Howard James Recruitment are pleased to be working with a growing organisation to recruit a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their busy finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing and reconciling invoices, purchase orders, and payments.

• Assisting with month-end and year-end reporting.

• Maintaining accurate financial records and updating accounting systems using Sage

• Reconciling bank statements and assisting with petty cash management.

• Supporting the accounts team with budgeting and forecasting tasks.

• Liaising with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to resolve queries.

• Assisting with payroll administration and VAT returns.

• Ensuring compliance with policies and financial regulations.

• Supporting ad hoc finance projects and process improvements.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in accounts, finance, or bookkeeping (preferred).

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and IT systems; experience with accounting software is an advantage.

• Strong numerical and analytical skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.

• Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively in a team.

• Able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
